Magnetic Nature

Magnetic Nature

By Raihan Jane

passionate conversation can arouse fiery romances / opening up for the first time can create unbreakable bonds / going behind closed oak doors can ignite blue flames / but all you can think of is / chess after intimacy / blabbering on and on about Aristotle / your love for the colour brown / then I thought about nature / your runic features tell me you belong to scriptorium / your hands seem destined to hold the mastery of / Philosophy / Humanities / Rhetoric / Theology / the anatomy of language / and more… / while I, a smudge on your refined cotton paper / make me wonder why I am not shaped as those lines you trace / you had everything you need before me / well… / sudden tears fall when feeding yourself Sunday meatballs / your shoulders drop when others are out of sight / calling my name before ranting about your bad day / you carve knowledge into towers—tall, cold, and impenetrable / yet with me, the brick softens / there, a realisation entered inside my head / with me, your true words unravel / I was the only one you opened up to / the only one you let in / before locking the oak doors.
